I just finished sewing the binding onto Anna's dorm room quilt. I'm settled in now with Princess Bride on HBO ready for the hand stitching.
It has been great to have a few days at home. In between sewing there have been exciting summertime projects like organizing the tupperware an scrubbing the tile. I just got my welcome back letter from school. Still a few days to go though, so I'll enjoy them while I can.

What a stunning quilt--it should be fun quilting this one...hugs, Julierose
I had to laugh at your summer projects. One of my summer tasks as a kid growing up was to scrub the grout in the shower with a toothbrush and a product that I seem to remember was called Jubilee (no jubilation for me). We also washed windows -- one on the inside, one on the outside -- which wasn't so hard since we had a single level house.
Your quilt will be the star of her room, making it wonderfully comfortable :) It's stunning!
Beautiful quilt and my favorite movie!
Beautiful job! I was just mentioning The Princess Bride to my kids on the way home from riding lessons today... they have never seen it. They don't know what they are missing!
I retired from teaching 2 years ago. When I hear phrases like "Shop for School," and "Summer is Almost Over," I still get a lurch in my stomach! Then I remember that I don't teach anymore! Your comment on your back-to-school letter brought back memories!
I always loved summers for being able to quilt. Your daughter's quilt is a winner! I am just finishing my grandson's graduation quilt also. It's a first for me to have a grandchild graduate!
What a lucky daughter!!!
As fun as vacation is, it is nice to get home and get back to the sewing room too. Anna's quilt is really pretty, perfect for a dorm room. When does she have to head out to school? At SITs college, the Freshman get to move in first so they can be there for Welcome Week.
Love that quilt - it should be the star of Anna's room! Binding should be a nice change from scrubbing tiles 🙂.
