Thrilling Thursday Surprise

I was busy telling my AP Biology students that there was no way they would cancel school for tomorrow because Sandy was not going to come anywhere near us.  I was quite adamant about it until I was interrupted by an e-mail announcing that school is cancelled for tomorrow.  Y'all in the north can have your snow days, we are taking a hurricane day!  I wonder how much I can sew in a three day weekend of intermittent rain bands?  I have a diet Mt. Dew, a closet full of fabric and plenty of motivation.  WOOOHOOOO!!!

Hope you also hang on to your electricity -- and stay safe!

Have fun sewing!

Only problem with that is if your electricity goes out! We have that problem too, when the wind blows 40 - 50 mph, or the snow/ice is too heavy on the lines. Enjoy the time off, and I hope the storm is not as bad as predicted.

Looks like Sandy will be visiting us up north also!

Yippee!!! School's out!!! As quick as you are, it's scary to think of what all you can get done in a Hurricane Day off :*)

That is just to funny, Angela.
I'm working with brown fabrics. An Obi Wan's brown robe for Halloween. Son likes Star Wars.

Tonight it didn't look like it would make landfall until a lot farther up the coast. But, you will still get lots of rain. Lucky you to get a 3 day weekend to sew. I'll watch for a post of what you've done! Have fun.

Have fun sewing tomorrow and stay safe. We do not get snow days till late Jan or Feb when the temperature drops and the wind blows then it is out right dangerous to be out.

Enjoy the sewing day! Our schools had a scheduled day off..... but for some reason Aidan's pre-K is open! Oh well - school and then a play date at the park. I just hope it doesn't rain..... otherwise my house will really be a mess with 3 kids running around. Stay safe.
I get a sewing day tomorrow!

I hope you enjoyed your sewing day. Will you have to make it up at the end of the academic year? And did Sandy come close?

Sounds like you made good use of your "snow day". DT was born when we lived south of Houston. She got several days off school when Rita hit. When we moved north the next year, she was quite amazed to get snow days off.
