Blue Flimsy

The top is put together for Cerulean Sky.  I did the first border by sewing sections directly onto the blocks before they were sewn together.  I just need to do a second border in white and then I can load it onto the frame.  I don't know why I have such an aversion to borders. I went out after lunch and got some blue flannel for the back so it should be ready to go soon.
Anna has a friend over to play and Ryan is working on his science fair project. Sydney has been in and out playing with kids from the neighborhood. I'm working on laundry and Kurt is cutting wood for the stairs.  Just a regular old day around here.  Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.

I love the way this quilt turned out. I would have never thought the first border would work the way you did it but I love it. Do you have a long arm quilter or what sort of frame do you mean?
Happy stitching.

this beautiful .... I apologize for my writing, since English is not anything and I use a translator to understand what you write and I write through the translator ... sorry ... it means I have to communicate, I hope this is better understood ... hugs

Looking good. I'm not too keen when it comes to the borders either. Especially plain borders; all that fabric the same puts me off and my quilts never seem to turn out to the correct measurements so I have to fiddle and faddle. I'm determined to try to add more borders though.

This turned out so pretty. Are you going to hand or machine quilt it?

Really nice and the borders make it more special.

The quilt turned out beautifully. And the nice thing is it would work in other colours or as a scrappy one. Joanne

Beautiful quilt! Your borders are just right. I haven't been using too many borders these days either . . .

What a pretty quilt top for your challenge entry. I like your idea of adding the border squares to the outside edges of the blocks as you sewed. I hope you'll show us the cozy flannel when you have a chance. It sounds like it will be a good quilt to use as a throw on the couch.
