End of Year Finishing

The finished list continues.  Here is Running Stitches.  Please ignore the fact that it is upside down.
Here is the back.  Creative, right?  There was a tiny bit of the flower fabric from the upper left-hand corner in the scrap bin when Sydney was looking for a piece of fabric for a Christmas present.  She remembered that it was her nursery fabric.  Lots of leftovers all hodgepodged together in happy harmony.
Speaking of a hodgepodge, the pantry was quite frightening. I didn't get a "before" picture.  It was one of those circumstances where one thing just led to another and pretty soon the pantry was empty, repainted and sanitized.  It is a bit more organized now. I wonder how long it will stay that way?
Once I started organizing, I just couldn't stop.  We have five kinds of flour!  Who needs so many kinds of flour?  Sydney wanted almond flour for macrons.  Somehow we ended up with ancient grain flour instead, and quinoa flour, and coconut flour.  I'll be on the lookout for some ways to put some of that to good use, but until then, look at how tidy it all looks.  I'll try not to worry about the three kinds of oatmeal.  It is nice to have some time at home to get projects done.  I'm just always too tired to get all fired up at the end of a long school day.  We don't go back to school for almost two more weeks.  I might finish off quite a few things before then.

What a colorful quilt! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the back! That's my kind of back. Way to go on organizing stuff. Funny you have that many kinds of flour. We just have "flour" at our house. Usually this time of year I set goals to use up stuff I haven't for a while. This year's goal is to use up all of the leftover "diet" stuff. There's shake packets, noodles that are made from mushrooms, drink mixes, protein stuff... vegetable drinks... Use it up! Just FINISH it--that's my word.

Neat closets and cabinets can be so comforting. Why do we all put it off so long?

I am one to get several different kinds of flour too if you make waffles or pancakes try using a quarter cup of one or more mixed with white and they turn out good and are healthier than just white. I love your organized panty - I wish I would turn my whole laundry area into something like that only still have room for the washer and dryer LOL
Good to use up that extra fabric for a backing - the quilt I am quilting now I found a block I made with fabric left over from my grandson's baby quilt and he is in the army now!!! I didn't remember that I still had the scraps

My pantry has needed cleaning for a while now. I did get one shelf organized this morning.

I started trying to clean out the pantry, but decided to work on a shelf at a time. You're much better off having tackled the whole thing at once. I did purge the spice shelf though before Thanksgiving. Out went the old stuff including jars so solid you couldn't shake anything out. And who needs two containers of cream of tartar?

Running Stitches is so bright and fun. You've been moving along with the finishes this holiday season. And the reorg stuff. We've been doing some of that too. I finally tackled our hall coat closet to the repeated chorus of "Oh that's where those gloves went, I thought I lost them" from both My Guy and the SIT. The pantry is on my list for today. (In terms of flour, we came home from Christmas with 2 bags to add to the 2 bags that were added at Thanksgiving. I'm hoping bread is in the cards before the New Year's Holiday).
