I agree! I was thinking of not doing the brown/black a few months ago and went looking at your finished quilts from last year and changed my mind. They are going in my quilts this year too!
Thank you for the color lesson. I wasn't sure about using brown in the coffee cup quilt. I've made one cup with a brown background, but has a colorful print. It is by far the darkest block, but I'll leave it in until I get all the blocks done, then I can check the color/darkness balance.
I love what brown & black add to your quilts! I won't be able to use them in my Mini Pineapples though because I am using black as my background. However, not a problem because I've decided to make some completely different blocks for a nice change-up and use up those brown & black scraps anyway:*)

I HAVE to remember that sashing for my quilt this year. It's an amazing "tie together".
